FORT PIERCE — An apparent pork rind rampage at a food market landed an “irate and cursing” man in jail this week, according to a police report.
The manager/owner of the market told Fort Pierce police that Anthony Wilson, 39, entered the establishment and “began ripping open six bags of Pork Skins.”
In general, pork rinds are deep-fried, cured pork skin pieces. The irregular, Styrofoam-like puffed curls typically are sold in plastic bags with barbecue and/or other flavorings. Fried pork skins are not to be confused with pickled pork rinds, a rich and buttery — much like foie gras — treat often enjoyed refrigerated.
In addition to attacking the pork rinds, Wilson stands accused of destroying lottery tickets.
