Thomas Jefferson was of the 'Old Whig' party, as were all the Founding Fathers. That is, they supported the Glorious Revolution of 1688 (the defeat of King James II at the Battle of the Boyne), but opposed the 'New Whig' Oligarchy ruled over by Pitt, whom they claim perverted the aforesaid Revolution. Consequently, they supported the Stuart claims over the House of Hanover, though Adams saw himself as the second coming of Oliver Cromwell [a Republican], and Jefferson supported the anti-Stuart politics of the lawyer Edward Coke.
The Hanoverians were well-known to be part of the Black Guelph dynasty (which included Russian Romanovs and Austrian Hapsburgs, eventually, as well), that ruled Europe at the time. Making political hay of this was a typical American response to this dynasty in Europe, for Jefferson's era.

Those sentences will run concurrently and came with a recommendation on diversion -- a type of supervised probation. If Shafer follows the rules, she will not face jail time. Jon Heck, Asst. Commonwealth's Attorney, said Friday, "It was consistent with the wishes of the family. It was consistent with my opinion and my advice on this case. We wanted a quick resolution and we were able to get to where we wanted to be." A police report obtained by WDRB News in March indicates that LMPD officers apprehended 38-year-old Carrie Shafer at the canoe launch in Miles Park, across the street from the Valhalla Golf Club earlier that month. Police say they found her in a car with "steamed windows." With her in the car was a 17-year-old student, and both Shafer and the minor were "partially nude."

US strike 'kills' key Pakistan militant Ilyas Kashmiri

Analysis
M Ilyas Khan BBC News, Islamabad
It is difficult to confirm almost everything in Pakistan's tribal badlands which are a virtual no-go area for the media, but there are indications Ilyas Kashmiri is indeed dead. According to a recent Associated Press report, his name figured among the top five al-Qaeda and Taliban militants US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mentioned during her meetings with the Pakistani leadership a week ago. He was one of the most active al-Qaeda leaders, and was believed to have had a role in some high-profile attacks against Pakistani and US interests in Pakistan. It is believed that the capabilities of his 313 Brigade will suffer a setback now that he is gone. What is more, the Pakistani government has admitted to agreeing to set up joint intelligence teams with the Americans to hunt down wanted militant leaders, and many would be led to believe the Pakistani intelligence operatives had a role in leading the Americans to Kashmiri, unless the Pakistanis or the Americans claim otherwise.

Police say EMS had to be called after two Louisville parents left an infant child in the back seat of a hot car while they visited a local strip club.
It happened at roughly 11:00 Tuesday night in the parking lot of Deja Vu, near the intersection of Taylor Blvd. and Longfield Ave.
Police say they received a phone call about an infant trapped in the back seat of a black Chevy Impala, while the parents had gone inside to the bar. When officers arrived, they found the child in the back seat, soaked in sweat.
At that point, 43-year-old Laura Diprimo -- listed as the child's mother -- allegedly ran out of the strip club and jumped in the car, lowering the windows. 28-year-old Thomas W. Lee -- listed on the arrest

Death threat on Coke staff

Coca-Cola has hired a security firm to shadow its Invercargill staff as they make deliveries after death threats were made against them.
Coca-Cola Amatil New Zealand managing director George Adams yesterday confirmed an Invercargill man had threatened to kill Coca-Cola staff working in the city.
Since the threat, staff had been asked to wear plain clothes at work, were travelling in un-branded vehicles, and were accompanied by security officers.
The man said his wife died in February last year and his claims she was poisoned by Coca-Cola were "patently untrue" but his threats against staff in Invercargill were being taken serious-ly by the company, Mr Adams said.
The man was "very irate".

How do you steal half a case of beer from a local deli without setting foot in the store? Saw a hole in the wall.
Police said a burglar swiped a 12-pack of beer from Red Rooster Deli at 256 Oak St. about 2 a.m. Thursday by carving a hole through an exterior wall and the rear of a walk-in refrigerator pushed up against it.
Without entering the deli, police said the man took the beer and then fled in a Ford Escort on North Avenue toward Park Avenue.
Police later found the man in his vehicle with an open beer bottle, a large chisel and a hand saw.
Rui J. Rua, 45, of Frank Street, Bridgeport, with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, larceny and criminal mischief.

Using genomic sequencing, the spelling out of billions of genetic instructions stored in DNA, the study identified several methyltransferase protein families that are very similar in otherwise very distantly related human bacterial pathogens. These proteins also were found in hosts such as humans, mouse and rat.
